Volunteers dedicate themselves to serving in and around their faith community.
“
The Bible is instruction for life.— Lailah Gifty Akita
Volunteers are often ‘elected’ by a faith community to serve in and around the worshipping. They are often involved in pastoral care and administrative committees.
Volunteers dedicate their lives to following the teachings of God obediently. To accomplish this, they often appreciate the guidance of people who are more knowledgeable than they are. Volunteers strive to make the advice of their leaders their own. It is important for Volunteers to understand what they and the people they relate to believe. These beliefs they will then trust and follow.
Volunteers find meaning in using their gifts in established structures. It could be helpful to them to ask to be placed somewhere where their gifts can be used to the benefit of the community and broader society. Volunteers take up these roles (often in institutional positions) to support the efforts of their church or group.
It is a way to make a difference in people's lives. It is also a way to exercise your gifts. You are uniquely equipped by the Spirit to use and enjoy the gifts God has given you. Ultimately your gift is a gift to others.
Nurture and explore your faith. Make sense of how you believe, who you are and why you do things the way you do.
