Artists support themselves on their journey towards meaning and significance by exploring a wide range of angles, viewpoints, approaches and perspectives.
“
Thou hast made us for thyself, O Lord, and our heart is restless until it finds its rest in thee.— Augustine of Hippo
Artists have given up on finding simple explanations. They support themselves on their journey towards meaning and significance by exploring a wide range of perspectives. They let go of the need to understand everything in simple one-dimensional terms. They often use a range of different ways to examine issues in their lives. They use different points of view when they want clarity about their life journey.
Artists learn to live with the tension between a transformed vision of life and reality. They adjust to the multidimensional realities of meaning. Artists find new vehicles for expressing faith by embracing the polarities of life, an alertness to paradox and the need for multiple interpretations of reality. They rejoin that which has previously been separated. In themselves, Artists are porous and permeable.
Artists should be encouraged to integrate their faith with who they are and what they do. Reading about people who struggled to integrate their faith may help them and inspire Artists to clear their own path to authentic living.
Nurture and explore your faith. Make sense of how you believe, who you are and why you do things the way you do.
